Eye Camp
Rotaract Bangalore East successfully organised a Free Eye Camp in association with Rotary Bangalore East, Rotary Bangalore Koramangala, Rotary Bangalore 2020, The Rotary Foundation for Avoidable Blindness, and Drishti Eye Hospital, with the aim of making essential eye care more accessible to the community.
A flagship initiative of Rotary Bangalore East since 2002, the camp has continued to create meaningful impact through the dedicated guidance of Rtn. Krishnamoorthy. This year, the initiative saw active participation from President Rtr. Aakash and the members of Rotaract Bangalore East, along with the support of RB Koramangala and the medical team from Drishti Eye Hospital.
The camp provided eye screening for 59 beneficiaries, identified 16 individuals requiring cataract surgery, and facilitated 15 pairs of spectacles for those in need. These efforts enabled early detection and timely access to essential eye care, contributing towards the prevention of avoidable blindness.
With the collective efforts of Rotarians, Rotaractors, healthcare professionals, and volunteers, the initiative once again demonstrated the power of collaboration, compassion, and preventive healthcare.
