Ink of Independence – The Freedom to Learn

On 15th August 2026, Rotaract Bangalore East celebrated Independence Day through Ink of Independence, a meaningful Community Service initiative at the National Residential School for the Deaf.

The initiative focused on celebrating the freedom to learn by providing essential educational resources to 60 students. Despite being organised at short notice, our members came together to distribute 120 pencils, 120 pens, 60 books, and 60 erasers, ensuring every child received a stationery kit.

Beyond the supplies, the drive created moments of joy, encouragement, and connection. The smiles and gratitude of the children made the initiative truly memorable for everyone involved.

Ink of Independence reminded us that impactful service can begin with the simplest gestures. By sharing the tools to learn, create, and grow, Rotaract Bangalore East celebrated freedom in its most meaningful form — by giving every child a reason to dream bigger.

Because the greatest freedom is the freedom to learn.
